Which One to Trust on Marcos' Narratives: Social Media vs. Traditional Media
Does the Late Dictator - Ferdinand Marcos Sr. - Have the Highest Bar Exam Grade of 98.01% in Philippine History?
Facebook pages, YouTube channels, TikTok users, among others have been spreading false information claiming that Marcos Sr. took the 1939 Bar Exams and his unofficial grade was almost 98.01% making him have the highest score ever in the history of Philippine Bar Exams. These posts even claimed that he was even later on called before the Supreme Court for an oral re-examination which gave him his decreased official grade.

And for the nth time, traditional media channels debunked this claim by asserting that the highest grade of all time for the Philippine Bar Examinations is 96.7% which Florenz Regalado holds. And opposite to the claims on social media, news such as those from Philippine Star and ABS-CBN contended that Ferdinand Marcos was indeed a bar topnotcher in 1939 but with a score of 92.5%.

Now, fact-checking organizations including VERA Files and AFP Fact Check again supported the traditional media. According to them, retired Supreme Court Justice Florenz D. Regalado still holds the highest score in the Philippine Bar Examinations. The claim was presented while citing the Supreme Court’s Office of the Bar Confidant.
